SPUTUM SAMPLE
- The container will be sterile and hermetically sealed. No
preservative will be added to the sample.
- It is recommended to rinse the mouth with water and obtain
the sputum preferably first thing in the morning, before breakfast.
- Samples containing only saliva are of poor quality.
- The sample must be collected before starting antibiotic
treatment.
